Hey guys Mr. Wellness here with another wellness 101. Just a quick reminder the CDC now recommends that we all wear non-medical face masks while in public. Wearing a mask or bandana is essential right now because we’re nearing the height of the coronavirus COVID-19 spread.
For now commercially made N-95 masks are virtually impossible to find and should be reserved for medical personnel and first responders. So this means if you want to wear a mask and you should you’re gonna have to make one and we can show you how.
The CDC has several tutorials on how to make a homemade mask on their website, out of materials such as generic cotton fabric t-shirts and bandanas. The following is an easy no sew method to make a bandanna mask.
Start by taking a regular sized bandana and fold one half to the center, then fold the other half to the center, flip the entire bandanna over and fold one half to the center, and then fold the other half to the center again.
Place a rubber band or hair tie on both sides of the folded bandana. Flip the bandana back over once again fold each end to the middle and tuck one side in to the other. Place the hair ties around your ears and there you have it a homemade DIY face mask.
Please keep in mind that face masks while important do not take the place of proper social distancing practices and hand washing. Please wear a mask any time you leave the house for life-sustaining items such as trips to the grocery store pharmacy and hardware store.
